My Teachers
Investing in Real Estate is a team sport, and I have a few people on my team that I consider to be invaluable.
Mike Cantu
Having flipped over 1100 houses in his 27 year career, Mike is considered by many to be one of the most successful investors in California, if not the entire US. I am very fortunate to call Mike a friend and a mentor and look forward to our weekly chats over lunch. For those wishing to follow in Mike’s footsteps, he offers a few courses (all of which I own and rec0mmend). You can learn more about Mike and his courses on his website. (by the way, Mike’s courses are FAR better than his website, so don’t let that put you off)
Ward Hanigan
Ward has been investing in foreclosure properties in San Diego for many years and over that time has built a reputation as one of the sharpest buyers in the business. Like many successful investors, Ward is a frequent speaker at many of the local real estate clubs. He also offers one-on-one coaching and training on a variety of topics.
Peter Fortunato
If you’ve ever had the privilege of hearing Pete give a talk, you’ll understand what I mean when I say that Pete has one of the most creative minds in the business. Pete says that as an investor, our primary job is to turn an opportunity into a deal by creating a deal structure that meets the needs of all the parties involved. While this may not sound like rocket science, the degree of creativity that Pete’s deal structures possess is truely remarkable. You can learn more about Pete on his site.
John Schaub
The author of several books, John is a speaker, training, and investor who’s style I greatly enjoy. He has prospered during three recessions, four tax law changes and interest rates ranging from 6-16% in his 35 years as a real estate investor. His 2005 best-selling book, Building Wealth One House at a Time: Making it Big on Little Deals, assisted more than 50,000 real estate enthusiasts on their way to successful investing. His 2007 book, Building Wealth Buying Foreclosures
, is available online and in bookstores. You can learn more about John at his website.
